ビットバンク株式会社（本社：東京都品川区、代表取締役社長：廣末 紀之、以下当社）はLightning Network の実用化に向けて、当社の独自開発アプリケーション「NLoop」を公開いたしました。なお、当社が運営する暗号資産取引所 bitbank において、 Lightning Network を活用した入出金の実装も検討を進めております。
Lightning Network とは
Lightning Network とは、ビットコインのブロックチェーンが抱えるスケーラビリティ（拡張性）や処理速度、送金に係る手数料などの課題を解決するために考案されたレイヤー 2 における最先端技術です。ブロックチェーンの外（オフチェーン）で取引を実行することで、送金速度の大幅な向上や少額決済に対応した安価な送金手数料を実現することができます。
NLoop 概要
当社が独自開発した NLoop （エヌループ）は Lightning Network を安定して使用するためのソフトウェアです。

NLoop はネットワークの参加者が世界の様々なリクイディティプロバイダ（流動性提供者）* に接続して、チャンネルを常に使用可能な状態に保つ処理を行うことを自動化するアプリケーションであり、Lightning Network を普及させていく上で課題となっている流動性不足に対するソリューションとして機能します。

Lightning Network において、リクイディティプロバイダとのやり取りを自動化するアプリケーションは国内で初の事例となります。（当社調べ）
bitbank 内部における NLoop の活用方法
当社では、取引所 bitbank におけるビットコイン入出金への活用も視野に入れ、Lightning Network の研究開発に注力しています。Lightning Network を活用することで、よりスムーズな入出金を可能にし、裁定取引（アービトラージ）などにおける利便性を高めるだけでなく、少額決済など様々な送金需要に対応した機能性を実現することができます。

インターネットに Internet Service Provider (ISP) が存在するように、インターネットオブマネーであるビットコインには、ライトニングネットワークへの接続を担保する Lightning Service Provider (LSP) という主体が必要になります。
現在「暗号資産取引所」と呼ばれれているものの多くは、近い将来 LSP になると私は考えています。

We announce that bitbank, inc. (HQ: Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan CEO: Noriyuki Hirosue; hereinafter referred to as the Company) made public our originally developed application Nloop in order to put the Lightning Network to practical use. Besides, at bitbank, we are currently studying the possibility of implementation of deposits and withdrawals of cryptocurrency through the Lightning Network.
What is “NLoop” ?
NLoop is bitbank’s originally developed application and is a software that aims for a stable use of the Lightning Network.

NLoop is an application for automating the process of channel state management so that your node has enough in/outbound liquidity against the "liquidity providers" in the world, effectively improving the usability of your Lightning Network node.

At the Company, we spare some of our efforts to R&D of the Lightning Network, one of our goals is to allow users to withdraw/deposit their BTC funds in LN. Using the Lightning Network not only enables smoother transactions and improves convenience at arbitrage transactions, but also makes possible some functionalities for remittance demands such as small payments.

Just as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) is required for the decent operation of the Internet, a Lightning Service Provider (LSP) is required for the stable use of "the Internet of Money", a.k.a. Bitcoin.
I think that most of the currently so-called “cryptocurrency exchanges” will become the LSP in the near future.
This software is the first step for the Company to go through that pass. Please see here for more technological details.
Many companies are aware of the potential importance of the LSP itself, but at the moment I think there are not many that have R&D projects for this.
bitbank is one of a few companies that have R&D projects for the Lightning Network.
